Tomorrow is a travel day. We fly from Vienna to Amsterdam at 9:25am, a 1hr and 50 minute flight, then Amsterdam to Calgary at 12:25pm, an 8 hour flight. Sounds like we're arriving to -2C and snow :(

September 29, 2019 - Pictures of the day
Sadly, today was the last day of our vacation. Weather was a balmy +24C. Did a lot of walking around Vienna and touring the St. Stephen's cathedral. This cathedral was started in the 12th century and is simply stunning.

September 28, 2019 - Pictures of the day
Today was a travelling day.
We left Zvolen at 10am and drover to Bratislava. It was overcast and rained off and on. Had lunch at a nice hotel in Bratislava then caught the 2:30pm ferry to Vienna. Strolled around a bit and hit a nice café, the Landtman, for apple strudel and a nice glass of red wine. Took a few pictures on my phone while walking back to the hotel this evening. Unfortunately I can't upload them to the blog. We're here all day tomorrow so will use my camera and post pictures then.

September 27, 2019 - Last day in Zvolen
No pictures today as we were cleaning up the house and packing up. Tomorrow we drive back to Bratislava and catch the ferry up the Danube to Vienna. We are there for two nights, then fly to Amsterdam and then back to Calgary.
We got the chance to have coffee with Mariana this morning at a coffee shop in the town square and went out to dinner with her, Ivan, Sam and Juliana.

September 26, 2019 - Pictures of the day
Today we checked out of our hotel in the High Tetras and drove east to the Belianska Caves in the Tetra National Park. The caves were first discovered in the 1st half of the 18th century. They are 2,350 meters long. To get to them we hiked up the mountain for about 20 minutes. The tour of the caves system was an hour and a half and had 850 steps. Beautiful to say the least. We then took back roads home over mountains, through valleys and towns to Zvolen. Ended the day with a lovely meal with Jaro, Monica and Inga.

September 25, 2019 - Pictures of the day
Today was very misty in the morning but made for some nice shots as we walked around the lake before travelling east from Strbske Pleso to Stary Smokovec. The Grand Hotel reminded me a lot of the Banff Springs Hotel. Travelled a little further east to some caves but may go back to see them tomorrow.
